One of our core values as an organization is *community.* With 100 local members between Buffalo & Rochester, we’ve created a network of wedding vendors who share in the same values and happen to be really fun people! Even though we’re sometimes competition, we actually enjoy spending time together. We share our successes and sometimes failures which help us all learn from each other in a supportive way. We also meet to create inspiration and opportunities, like styled shoots, special events and collaborations as well as partnerships!
As small business owners, many of us left the big corporate world (or perhaps never even entered it!) because of the stressful, limiting and cookie-cutter culture. We all relish in the joy of being our own bosses, with a heaping cup of get-down-to-business and a healthy dash of fun! We have all experienced that “something’s lacking” feeling in our professions, so we set out to create our own opportunities.
In all its glory, being on your own is isolating at times. And it can get like, really lonely. No matter what industry you’re in, IT LITERALLY TAKES A VILLAGE. Growth and success can only be found when we truly lift each other up for the better of the community.
This collaborative atmosphere creates a better local environment, where pros help each other out, rather than hold each other back. This environment is one in which brides and grooms can enjoy wedding planning much more. Knowing that they are working with true professionals who are confident enough in their own abilities instills confidence in the client. Our vendors guide the clients down the right path, even if that path doesn’t end with their name in the credits.
Brides and grooms can rely on their BIW/RIW professional to give them the best, most specialized services possible, and that’s the paramount of our collective. We encourage all of you creative wedding pros new and old to stay in touch with us and join us at our next networking event or workshop! You can follow us on the socials (listed at the end of the post) or even join the group to be able to come to these events for free or a discount! It’s just one of the ways in which we provide more opportunities for our community!
Big thanks to Hatchets and Hops for hosting this rowdy bunch, and to Dorian Mode Photography for snapping these photos!
